In this picture our Papà del Gnoco riding a mule. He’s the symbol of our Veronese’s carnival.

No recipe this week but some pictures taken on Friday the 12th of February during the Venerdì Gnocolar parade. I followed the whole parade and had so much fun. While I was busy throwing confetti and clapping at the parade participants, my husband Michael was running up and down the street trying to take some pictures.

Beautiful pictures. Almeno voi in Italia sapete come passare il carnevale. Qua da noi è passato come nulla fosse. Siamo andati in chiesa il mercoledi mattina a prendere le ceneri e basta

@Maureen & Betty: There are actually no pics of me, but I’ll see what I can do for next year.

    Hello Patty

Such beautiful photos!!! Very colourful. My mother often tells us about the wonderful carnivale and how much she loved them as a child. It’s one of the things she misses most about her homeland….Italians sure know how to celebrate :) I’m glad the tradition of street parades still exist today. One day I’d like to see it for myself…and of course bring my parents to share the moment with!

Thank you Carmela, you’re always so kind.
I hope someday you’ll be able to come to Italy and bring your parents back too.
